The Valley of Bellingham is changing the way we communicate with our members and we need your current e-mail address. As mailing and publication costs increase, more and more of our members get computers, and Valley income decreases the electronic media with its vastly reduced cost is a “makes sense” option to keeping our members informed. A big advantage to using the internet to communicate is that we can post new information much more quickly then a periodic newsletter allows and e-mails give you instant notification of meetings and other information. We are still putting this program together so this change will be gradual. In the interim those who are on the hot list (those members who have visited the Valley within the last five years) and don’t have e-mail will be sent periodic copies of the Rite News and other communications. Those not on the hot list will only receive our annual issues of Rite News that goes out with the dues billing. |

After a long history of one and two day fast classes the Valley is now moving to two to five years for a candidate to receive his 32°. This change is reflected in our new calendar. You can find our new calendar at The main reason for ever having a fast class was the pressure put on the Rite by the Shrine and members who did not want to be active in the Scottish Rite but only joined to qualify for Shrine membership. Now that the Shrine does not require Rite membership to join there is no need to offer fast classes. Instead we can return to supporting our reason for existing, that of being a college of Masonic knowledge. If self improvement and Masonic education is our goal then fast classes are necessarily contrary to our goal because little can be learned when receiving 19 degrees in one or two days. |
