From the PR’s desk
With the New Year upon
us, it becomes a time to reflect on our accomplishments and make
resolutions for the coming year. Our
spring class of six new members was a lot of fun. Having six new members is
an excellent achievement. Now we have
two more men going thru the degrees.
Why not make a resolution to help with the coming degrees and enjoy
the fellowship.
We’ve had some great
dinners last year and thanks to the good folks at Fools Onion, it just
keeps getting better. A group of about
25 of us paid a visit to their new restaurant in Fairhaven. Lance and Christine will
continue to rent our kitchen for their catering jobs, but now that they
have the new Fools Onion Restaurant, their business will undoubtedly grow.
The Scottish Rite Scholarship
Foundation is once again accepting applications. We are looking for full time college
sophomore or juniors. They must be US citizen, a Washington State
resident, and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
In the past, about half of the applications received were
funded. First time awards are
$1,500.00 with top students receiving $2,500.00. Over $260,000.00 was awarded last year
with Western Washington University
the top institution.
Don’t forget the Scottish
Rite’s top charity, Rite Care. Our
early childhood language disorders program is one of the finest in the
county and a model for others.

We need donations to
continue the work. Every day, kids
get turned away because the demand for help exceeds the means.
While we’re on the
subject of money, your dues are due.
They haven’t changed. Please,
do your part to support the lodge by paying promptly.
