From the Desk
of the Editor.
The end of a year is upon
us and it is definitely time for summer and a vacation or two. It is nice to review the accomplishments
of the Valley
of Bellingham in the
last year. We were blessed with a
new dual membership 33° member from the Orient of California who stepped up
to fill the position of General Secretary.
The Valley has taken some
actions to stop the budgetary bleeding of the Valley last year. As of May we are $2,600 ahead of last
year’s loss at May of 2006. We have
brought the Valley to break even this year.
One of those actions was
to stop publishing a printed and mailed newsletter monthly and only publish
on the internet. That was a hard
decision but our members preferred it to increased dues in a survey we sent
out.
It’s been nice to have
more sideliners in the lodge room.
If you haven’t been to lodge for a while mark August 1 on your
calendar. Come have dinner with us
at 6:30 and sit in Lodge at 7:30.
The program that evening will be, “The coming of the Charter.” Learn how the first Masonic Charter got
to the northwest.
I hope you have a nice
summer. With gasoline prices so high
you are really going to have to find interesting places to vacation so that
the cost of the gas to get there is worth it. Happy Summer.
PS: We are still looking for a new Editor for
the newsletter.
