Summer is over and a new year begins

Visitation to Fraser Valley Lodge of Perfection

By Steve Cronkhite, Venerable Master

We have a long tradition of visitations across the border with the Fraser Valley Lodge of Perfection.

This year is no exception.  We are planning to visit our Canadian Scottish Rite Brothers in Langley, BC at their annual 14° banquet and degree conferral.

Set aside Saturday October 13, 2007 for an afternoon and evening of Scottish Rite Fellowship.

We will leave Bellingham at 3:00 PM for Langley, BC.  We will meet at our Hall at 2:45 and carpool up.  I will bring my Suburban, it will hold eight.

They have their 13th degree at 4:30 PM

Dinner at 5:45

Confer 14° at 7:00 PM after receiving the Deputy for British Columbia.

Bring your hat.  This is a dark suit or tux affair.  If you have never seen the Canadian Scottish Rite Degrees you will enjoy this trip.  They have much more formal ceremonies than we do.

The tradition is to use our signs in the Lodge Room, not the Canadian signs and traditions.  Please don’t try to do their signs.

We need new Candidates

Bring Petitions to the Stated meeting for this year’s class

Keep in mind that the fees can be spread out over four $50.00 payments.  Only $50.00 need accompany the petition.

Consistory met in August

By Ronald Fine

We had our first meeting of the new year, on Wednesday August 1, 2007.  The Consistory opened the meeting. I have to say I was disappointed in the low turn out we had. Only 9 member were present. There were no petitions presented for reading.

We've planned to do the degrees even RonFine01.jpgwithout candidates, we will be studying them, doing questions and answers from all in attendance.  Each member will be asked to present the degree and explain it's meaning.

Under sickness we have several brothers who were unable to attend the meeting, Brother John Stafford fell in the shower and is now on crutches and Brother Chuck Amway was in the hospital having angiogram done. The results of his test is a 3 way by-pass on Thursday August 9, 2007. Please keep the brothers in your thoughts and prayers.

Hope to see you all on the first Wednesday of September for our meeting. Dinner is at 6:30 pm.

Yours in Faith

Ron Fine 32 KCCH

Master of Consistory
