Anway had bypass

Brother Chuck Anway, 32°KCCH one of our newest
Knights Commander Court of Honor members is seen here still wearing his
black hat. On September 23rd
he will receive his red hat in Tacoma.
Isn’t the Rose Croix Cross in the background just
fitting for this article?
The Bypass was successful with a hitch, they had
to put a stint in an artery they used for a bypass because it went into
spasm later in the day following the bypass surgery. He gave everyone, I think including his
doctors, a scare and had to be taken to the Cat. Lab. to find out what went
wrong.
The stint fixed the problem and Chuck passed his
one week physical and was approved for driving so he is no longer a
shut-in.
Nice to have you back among the driving and going
to meetings group, Chuck.

The Rite in Scottish Rite
By Steve Cronkhite, Venerable Master
Did you
ever wonder what a “Rite” is? I got
curious the other day and looked it up on Webster’s Dictionary.
Webster on “Rite” is as follows, “A prescribed
form of conducting a ceremony.”
Obviously our founders felt that ceremonies are a very important
part of what we do.
In our day to day working in the Rite who knew
that ceremonies are such an important part of what we do that it was
included in our name? How much
attention to we pay to perfecting our ceremonies? The ceremonies in our Rite are obviously
part of the educational program of the Rite and we should pay more
attention to the makeup and display.
The symbol shown above is a key symbol in one of
our degrees. If those of us who are
in charge of your education as a Scottish Rite Mason have done our job well
you should know what degree this symbol is associated with.
Bring your answer to lodge on Wednesday September
5th we will be recognizing those who figure it out.
